The Monster Zipline.

La Bestia's sister line at Toro Verde Adventure Park — slightly shorter, equally absurd, and a different stretch of the same central mountains.

The Activity

The other one.

If you're already going to Toro Verde for La Bestia, do The Monster too — it's the second line, on the same ridge, riding a different stretch of mountain. Slightly shorter, slightly slower, slightly less terrifying to step off. The view is different. The drop is different. The grin on the way down is the same.

Most groups do both. You can buy a combo package on-site, but the easier move is to book The Monster separately and decide about La Bestia at the platform.

Why people love it

Because once you've done one big zipline, doing a second is suddenly low-stakes. The fear is gone. The fun is amplified. This is the line for "now that I know I can do this, I want to do it again."

Why I love it

It's the line I send people on FIRST when they're nervous. The Monster is slightly more forgiving — the launch ramp is friendlier, the speeds are a notch lower, and the harness configuration feels less aggressive. Do The Monster, hit lunch at the park, then go do La Bestia. By that point you'll be ready.

Also: the photo from The Monster catches the inland mountains in a way La Bestia doesn't. Different memory.

Pro tips

  • If you have any zipline fear at all — start with The Monster, end with La Bestia.
  • Same gear rules: closed-toe shoes, hair tied back, no jewelry.
  • Pay for the GoPro footage. Different from La Bestia's footage; both worth keeping.
  • Eat between rides — the park has decent food at the upper platform.
  • Weight vests are available — use them if you're light.
  • 90 minutes from the house. Use the toll road.

The logistics

  • Duration: about 1 hour 10 minutes on the line
  • Difficulty: medium — you have to step off
  • Restrictions: weight + age limits (check at booking)
  • Pickup: some packages include transport; others are self-drive
  • Distance from the house: ~90 min south-central
